Stone Type
slate
Tympanum
face with ornamentation
Border
The border over the tympanum is a five line, four section configuration. Each section begins and ends within the tympanum. The first and outermost border is very thick and tapered at each end. The next border in is clear and thin. The next border has a biradial, repeated softly curved designs extending out from the top center. Moving closer to the interior of the tympanum, the fourth border presents another blank, thin width border, tapered at each end. In an early rendition of a future more prominent design element, there are small elements like the curtains on the side of the stage. To the left and right of the tablet, there are illustrated side panels. Each one is topped by a six point leaf in a circle. The illustrations down the length of the panel are mirror-image rounded interlocking shapes.
Remark
This stone was damaged during its installation into its concrete frame. The primitively rendered face uses a round shape for both the empty eye sockets and the shape of the head. The nasal cavity is a more abstract rendition looking as much like an elephant leg and foot as a nose. His hair is curly, extending away for the head, and his neck ends at the tympanum base.
