A two line, thin width border establishes the outside edge of the stone and the spacing for the bas-relief tablet. Around the tablet, the three line, two borders, one positive, one negative borders create the bas-relief effect.
Remark
There are three design elements in the tympanum. The arch has a serrated edge along the top. The face and wings utilizes period conventions (i.e. pulled back hair, eyebrow to nose transition, non-emotional, tab-like wings). Plants grow from the stone's shoulders to under the winged face. They are not mirror imaged.
